2018/19 Camp Registration Now Closed

The Big White Ski & Board School is offering a comprehensive race and/or freestyle training program for young athletes looking to advance their skills to the next level. Its world-renowned Ski & Board School is second-to-none in coaching standards both domestically and internationally. As a big mountain Big White offers so much flexibility and scope, but with the feel of a more intimate resort. With a huge range of terrain, no lift queues, champagne powder, heaps of off-snow activities and resort wonder Big White has been named as the 'Best Family Snow Resort' in Canada for years running, as well as a "Top 5 World's Best Family Resort" destination.

What’s involved?

Our Snow Sports Training Camps offers exclusive use of Big White Ski Resort’s world-class terrain space, as well as video training and assessment in order to prepare kids for Interschools competitions and domestic club racing. Our specialist trainers have coached at FIS and National levels, and combine their extensive experience with their knowledge of Big White’s terrain to provide your young racer or freestyler with all the tools they will need to maximize improvement in a fun environment.

Both the racing and freestyle programs have been designed using the Long-Term Athlete Development model, which combines the best research in today’s sport science with the best practices in coaching and training from around the world and supports training, competition, and recovery programs based on developmental age — the physical, mental and emotional maturation of the individual — rather than chronological age.

  • How to get here

Even though Big White is half way around the world, it is unbelievably easy to get to Kelowna International Airport (YLW). The following are some of the easiest and most popular options.

AIR CANADA - Big White’s preferred airline travelling from Australia.

Air Canada flies a state of the art Boeing 777 daily from Sydney to Vancouver. They also fly the very popular 787 Dreamliner daily from Brisbane to Vancouver. **NEW** Air Canada recently announced it will now be flying non-stop from Melbourne to Vancouver for winter 2017/18. All three routes arrive Vancouver early in the morning allowing a seamless 45 minute Airbus 320 jet connection to Kelowna.

QANTAS -  Many Australians prefer to fly their national airline. If that is your preference, Qantas offers non-stop service from Sydney to Vancouver December-February. From Vancouver it’s a short 45 connection on code share partner WestJet to Kelowna.

AIR NEW ZEALAND – A very popular option for travel from Australia as they operate non-stop service via Auckland to Vancouver. As with Air Canada and Qantas, connection in Vancouver is seamless. Connections are also available via Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Other popular airlines servicing Kelowna are United, V Australia, and several Asian airlines. For detailed information on the best routing to suit your needs, contact your preferred travel agent professional.
